At its sitting held on 27 March and chaired by the chairman, Tomislav Nikolic, the Administrative Committee considered the resignation of Goran Ilic from the office of deputy to the National Assembly. The Committee resolved that the mandate of Mr Ilic, elected from the Democratic Party of Serbia – Vojislav Kostunica Electoral List, had terminated before the expiry of the term he had been elected to, on the day of resignation. The Committee also proposed that the National Assembly should note the termination of the deputy’s mandate.

The Administrative Committee went on to establish the revised text of the Decision on Refund of Deputies’ Expenses and endorsed, without discussion, the Report on Expenses of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia for the Period January – December 2005.

Considering an official query, submitted by Vesna Lalic, for the Committee to state its opinion on her employment status, the Committee noted that it was a deputy’s undisputed to claim salary for six months after the termination of his/her mandate. Regulations do not specify, however, when a request to do so may be filed; furthermore, Ms Lalic had not filed such a request so far, nor retrieved her employment booklet kept at the Assembly. The Committee therefore ruled that the appropriate Assembly service should wait until six months have elapsed from the date of termination of office before officially terminating Ms Lalic’s employment, and in the meantime pay in any contributions to the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, should Ms Lalic choose to exercise her right.

Having discussed a request for information issued by the Assistant Public Prosecutor with Belgrade’s First Municipal Public Prosecutor’s Office relating to criminal charges filed by Sovranije Conjagic, Vesna Lalic, and Tamara Milosevic against several National Assembly officials for abuse of power, the Committee sent the requested information to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
