At the sitting held on 25 September 2019, the members of the European Integration Committee were presented the reports on the conduct of the National programme for adoption of the EU acquis (NPAA), in the first and second quarter of 2019.

The reports were presented by Assistant Minister for European Integration Ksenija Milenkovic who stressed that the success rate of the first quarter was average like in 2018, with the Government fulfilling 24% of requirements set out in the NPAA. The NPAA completion at the end of the first quarter of 2019 was 43% with the Ministry of Finance being the institution with the highest and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure with the lowest rate of success. In the second quarter of 2019 the situation was somewhat better, Milenkovic said, with a 37% success rate by the Government and overall NPAA fulfilment of 48%. Both the quarters and the overall completion have been on a rise slowly approaching 50% of overall NPAA fulfilment. The Ministry of Finance still has the best results, with the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management exhibiting the worst. Milenkovic concluded that, in view of the Government’s legislative activity, by the end of the year, the success is expected to be even better.

The Committee accepted both reports and went on to accept the initiative for a visit by the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Serbia in the period 11 – 15 November 2019.
