62nd sitting of the Administrative Committee

The Proposal of the Decision Modifying the Decision on Refund of Deputies’ Expenses was discussed and adopted at the sitting of the Administrative Committee held on 26 January.

The Proposal of the Decision Modifying the Decision on Refund of Deputies’ Expenses was discussed and adopted at the sitting of the Administrative Committee held on 26 January.

As the Committee had received several proposals, at its last session it formed a working group made up of made up of one member from each Deputies’ Group represented on the Administrative Committee, tasked with harmonising the draft of the final Proposal.

The Committee underlined that the Proposal of the Decision more closely defined the manner of exercising deputies’ entitlement to a refund of expenses incurred in using their own automobiles to come to National Assembly and Committee sessions. Deputies will henceforth be entitled to rent flats in Belgrade; if they should chose to do so, will not be allowed to claim compensation for expenses incurred in using their personal automobiles. It was emphasised that adoption of the proposed amendments and modifications in no way limited deputies’ entitlement to compensation, but rather served to establish control mechanisms over the use of state budget assets earmarked for this purpose.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee’s vice-chairman, Petar Cvetkovic.
