58th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 11 March 2018, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues deliberated on the amendments submitted to the bills on the agenda of the First Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2018.


The Committee members found all of the 655 amendments submitted to the Bill on Foreigners, 265 amendments submitted to the Bill on Asylum and Temporary Protection, 179 amendments submitted to the Bill on Border Control and 91 amendments submitted to the Bill on Records and Data Processing in the Field of Internal Affairs to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Out of the 41 amendments submitted to the Bill on National DNA Registry, the Committee rejected the amendment submitted to Article 5 as incomplete and found the rest to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members found all of the 33 amendments submitted to the Bill on Personal Identification Number and 16 amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Serbia to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Out of the 192 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Road Traffic Safety, the Committee rejected the amendment submitted to Article 147 and the amendments adding Article 21a after Article 21 and Article 29a after Article 29 as incomplete, while the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

Out of the 106 amendments submitted to the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Police, the Committee rejected as incomplete the amendments adding articles 3a and 3b after Article 3, adding Article 5a after Article 5 and adding Article 6a after Article 6, the amendments submitted to articles 8, 20, 24 and 36, as well as the amendments adding Article 1a after Article 1, adding Article 15a after Article 15, adding Article 32a after Article 32 and adding Article 82a after Article 82, while the rest were found to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members found all of the 8 amendments submitted to the Bill amending the Law on Public Peace and Order to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Djordje Komlenski and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Vesna Vukajlovic Nikolic, Zvonimir Stevic, Krsto Janjusevic, Bojan Torbica, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Petar Petrovic, Aleksandra Majkic, Gordana Comic, Vesna Markovic, Srbislav Filipovic, Bajro Gegic, Elvira Kovacs and Milena Corilic.
