When the fifty-sixth sitting of the Privatisation Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia continued, on 16 March 2006, Committee members continued discussing the Report of the Share Fund of the Republic of Serbia on problems arising in the implementation of Article 41a of the Privatisation Act.

The Committee proposed the establishment of a working group, to be made up of Committee members and representatives of appropriate bodies, which would aim at finding a solution for the problem of registering shares with the Central Registry in case sale and purchase contracts are terminated.

The Committee also proposed that the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of the Economy should grant consent for funding initiation of bankruptcy proceedings over companies where sale and purchase contracts have been terminated.

When the session continues the Committee is to adopt conclusions endorsing the proposals.

The Privatisation Committee sitting was attended by officials of the Ministry of the Economy, the Privatisation Agency, the Share Fund, the Tax Administration, and the Central Securities Registry, Depository and Clearing.
