53rd Sitting of the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues

At the sitting held on 31 July, the Committee on Administrative, Budgetary, Mandate and Immunity Issues reviewed and granted consent to the request of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality for the employment of new staff at the Commissioner’s Support Service.

Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for Protection of Equality, explained the request for consent to employ new staff saying that the 2015 HR Plan calls for the employment of 16 new civil servants but since the lack of adequate office space at the Commissioner’s Support Service makes this impossible, she addressed the Committee with the request to employ only 8 new staff members.

The Committee members also discussed and unanimously accepted the Report on the use and disposal of National Assembly labour funds in the period January-June 2015, submitted by National Assembly Secretary General Jana Ljubicic. She said that, in accordance with the Serbian Government’s austerity measures, the National Assembly’s budget is quite restrictive. Jana Ljubicic added that, in said period, 44% of the National Assembly’s budget had been spent, which is in accordance with the budget expenditure plan for the year.

The Committee then proceeded to consider the request made by MP Biljana Ilic Stosic for monthly cost compensation for apartment lease in Belgrade and passed a certificate confirming the MP’s right to it, and also gave a positive opinion to the request of Veljko Odalovic, Deputy Secretary of the Republic Electoral Commission, to assume another public function.

The Committee members also established the list for A-I and A-II parking stickers.

The sitting was chaired by Zoran Babic, Committee Chairman.
