52nd Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government
At the sitting held on 3 November, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government reviewed and decided to forward to the National Assembly for adoption the Proposal of the Decision on the election of judges to judicial office for the first time and the Proposal of the Decision on the Election of Court Presidents, submitted by the High Judicial Council.
The Committee members went on to establish the Proposal of the Decision on the election of a member of the High Judicial Council and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of a member of the State Prosecutorial Council. Dr Milan Skulic, tenured professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Law, was nominated for member of the High Judicial Council, while Dr Zoran Stojanovic, also tenured professor at the Belgrade Faculty of Law, was nominated for member of the State Prosecutorial Council. By majority vote, the Committee decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the Proposal of the Decision on the election of a member of the High Judicial Council and the Proposal of the Decision on the election of a member of the State Prosecutorial Council, and include them in the agenda for the Fourth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2015, pursuant to Article 168, paragraph 3, of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Petar Petrovic.
