52nd Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications
At the sitting held on 18 January 2016, the members of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications discussed and accepted the Bill on Information Security, in principle.
On the occasion, Savic said that the Bill provides the framework for the regulation of the security of information and communication systems in the Republic of Serbia and establishes protective measures for ICT systems, responsibility of legal entities regarding the management and use of said systems, and appoints competent authorities for the conduction of protection measures, coordination between the protection actors and monitoring of the correct application of said protection measures.
Among other things this Bill aims to regulate information security systematically, to appoint competent authorities in the field, subjects processing sensitive personal data, and have subjects in charge of activities of common interest apply adequate technical protection measures to their ICT systems.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Milutin Mrkonjic, and attended by Committee members Dr Vladimir Orlic, Konstantin Arsenovic, Olivera Pesic, Vuceta Toskovic, Suzana Spasojevic, Zoran Bojanic, Dragan Aleksic, Mujo Mukovic and Branka Bosnjak.
