47th Sitting of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government

At the sitting held on 27 July, the members of the Committee on the Judiciary, Public Administration and Local Self-Government discussed the Bill on Manner of Determining the Maximum Number of Public Sector Employees and the Bill on Register of Persons Employed, Elected, Nominated, Appointed and Hired with Public Funds Beneficiaries, submitted by the Government, in principle.

Providing the rationale for the bills, State Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Drazen Maravic said that they are aimed at gaining important steps forward in the public administration reform and contributing to fiscal consolidation and rationalisation of public spending.

Following a short debate the Committee members decided to propose that the National Assembly accept the Bill on Manner of Determining the Maximum Number of Public Sector Employees and the Bill on Register of Persons Employed, Elected, Nominated, Appointed and Hired with Public Funds Beneficiaries in principle.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairperson Tanja Tomasevic Damnjanovic.
