38th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 17 May 2021, the members of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues considered the bills on the agenda of the 12th Sitting of the First Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2021.


The Committee considered, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Secondary Education, submitted by the Government, and found it to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee went on to consider, in principle, the Bill amending and modifying the Anti-Discrimination Law and the Bill on Gender Equality, submitted by the Government, and found them to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members considered, in principle, the Bill on Renewal of Cultural-Historic Heritage and Development Incentives in Sremski Karlovci, submitted by the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, as well as the Bill amending the Law on Planning and Construction and the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Electronic Document, Electronic Identification and Trust Services in Electronic Business, submitted by the Government, and found them to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Speaker of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Istvan Pasztor, who attended the sitting, said he hoped that the National Assembly will take a positive approach to the Bill and endorse it in the plenum.

The Committee also considered in principle the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Special Conditions for the Realisation of the Housing Construction Project for Members of the Security Forces, Bill amending and modifying the Law on Navigation and Ports for Internal Waterways and the Bill on the Subway and City Railway, submitted by the Government, and found them to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The Committee members also found the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement on the International Occasional Carriage of Passengers by Coach and Bus (Interbus Agreement) and Decision No. 1/2011 of the Joint Committee Established under the Interbus Agreement on the International Occasional Carriage of Passengers by Coach and Bus, submitted by the Government, to be compliant with the Constitution and legal system of the Republic of Serbia.

The sitting was attended by the Speaker of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina Istvan Pasztor and representatives of the relevant ministries.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Veinovic, Zeljko Tomic, Olja Petrovic, Vuk Mircetic, Luka Kebara, Ugljesa Mrdic, Dubravka Kralj, Toma Fila, Jovan Palalic, Arpad Fremond, Ilija Matejic, Milenko Jovanov, Djordje Todorovic and Violeta Ocokoljic.
