35th Sitting of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues

At the sitting held on 14 July, the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues formulated the Proposal for the Election of Ombudsman.


The National Assembly elects the Ombudsman at the proposal of the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues which is submitted candidate nominations from the National Assembly’s parliamentary groups.

The Serbian Radical Party Parliamentary Group nominated candidate Ekaterina Marinkovic for Ombudsman; the Democratic Party Parliamentary Group and the Social Democratic Party - People’s Movement of Serbia Parliamentary Group jointly nominated candidate Milos Jankovic for Ombudsman; the Serbian Progressive Party, Socialists’ Movement - People's Peasant Party - United Peasant Party, Socialist Party of Serbia, Social Democratic Party of Serbia, United Serbia, Party of United Pensioners of Serbia and the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians - Party of Democratic Action parliamentary groups jointly nominated candidate Zoran Pasalic for Ombudsman; and Enough is Enough Parliamentary Group nominated candidate Vojin Biljic for Ombudsman.

Having interviewed the candidates, the Committee members decided, by majority vote, to submit the proposal to the National Assembly to elect Zoran Pasalic Ombudsman by urgent procedure.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Djordje Komlenski and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Vesna Nikolic Vukajlovic, Krsto Janjusevic, Zoran Krasic, Bojan Torbica, Sasa Radulovic, Jelena Zaric Kovacevic, Dejan Sulkic, Aleksandra Majkic, Srbislav Filipovic, Vojislav Vujic, Natasa Vuckovic, Balint Pasztor and Jasmina Obradovic.
