The Report was presented by the Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic. In 2018 the Commissioner handled 1407 cases, which is more than last year. One of the reasons for it is an increased number of complaints against the Law on Financial Support for Families with Children and civil society organisations complaining that buildings and/or services are inaccessible to persons with disabilities. Complaints of disability discrimination top the list this year, followed by age discrimination, while one in ten complaints was of gender discrimination.

Following the detailed presentation, the Committee members discussed the Commissioner for Protection of Equality 2018 Regular Annual Report and drafted a Conclusion Proposal to be forwarded to the National Assembly for consideration.
