21st Sitting of the Health and Family Committee

At the sitting held on 13 June, the members of the Health and Family Committee reviewed the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period July - September and October - December 2018.


The activity information for said period was presented by State Secretary Berislav Vekic.

He informed the Committee members about the Ministry’s normative activities, stressing that a number of laws were passed: the Law amending and modifying the Law on Psychoactive Controlled Substances, Law on Human Cells and Tissues, Law on Human Organ Transplantation, Law on Medical Insurance, as well as a series of rulebooks and ordinances.

He also informed the Committee about the draft laws currently being prepared and the Ministry’s activities in the coming period, among them the amendments and modifications to the Decision on the maximum number of full-time employees in the public body system, public service system, AP Vojvodina system and local self-government system for 2017, Ordinance amending the Ordinance on planning and types of good and services subject to centralized public procurement and many other rulebooks and ordinances.

Vekic said that the Ministry is also working on the European integration process and legislative harmonization with the EU acquis, as well as coordinating and participating in the joint activities of EU’s Third Health Programme (2014-2020). The Serbian Government had also adopted a HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Strategy (2018-2025) and Action Plan for 2018-2021.

Vekic proceeded to brief the Committee members on the successful inspections conducted in the second half of 21018, number of cases handled and rulings issued by the Department of Sanitary Inspection, Department of Health Inspection and the Department for the Inspection for Drugs and Medical Devices, Psychoactive Controlled Substances and Precursors.

The State Secretary also informed the Committee members about the projects conducted by the Ministry of Health in the reporting period, among them the reconstruction of clinical centres in Serbia (Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac).

Following State Secretary Vekic’s in depth presentation, the Committee members accepted the Ministry of Health Activity Information for the period July - September and October - December 2018 by majority vote

On behalf of the Working Group for civic petitions, Prim. Dr Milovan Krivokapic briefed the Committee on the civic petitions received, which were reviewed and forwarded to the competent institutions for further processing.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Doc. Dr Darko Laketic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Dr Danica Bukvic, Dr Muamer Bacevac, Prim. Dr Milovan Krivokapic, Dr Svetlana Nikolic Pavlovic, Dr Desanka Repac, Olivera Ognjanovic, Dr Ljubica Mrdakovic Todorovic, Prof. Dr Milan Knezevic, Dr Danijela Stojadinovic and Borka Grubor.
