17th Sitting of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction

At the sitting held on 26 January, the members of the Committee on Labour, Social Issues, Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction discussed the Bill on Use of Guide Dogs in principle and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Social Security Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of France.


The Bill on Use of Guide Dogs was elaborated Vladimir Pesic, Assistant Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs. He said that the Bill regulates the right of disabled people to use guide dogs on public transport, in facilities and areas in public use and at the workplace. Pesic said that the Bill defines which persons with disabilities can use guide dogs, who can be a guide dog trainer and how guide dogs can be used to assist the disabled.

Following a short debate the Committee members unanimously adopted the Bill on Use of Guide Dogs in principle.

The Committee members went on to review the Bill on the Confirmation of the Social Security Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of France, elaborated by Zoran Milosevic, Assistant Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.

The Committee unanimously adopted the Bill.

The Committee members proceeded to set up a Working Group for the monitoring and implementation of the Labour Law.

The sitting was chaired by Dr Vesna Rakonjac, Committee Chairperson.
