16th Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee
At the sitting held on 26 June 2013, the Security Services Control Committee considered the 2012 Annual Report on activities concerning the implementation and supervision of the implementation of the Data Confidentiality Law, submitted by the Minister of Justice and Public Administration, in line with article 97 of the Data Confidentiality Law.
This was the first time that an assembly committee discussed a report related to the implementation of the Data Confidentiality Law.
The Committee members commended the activities of the National Security and Data Confidentiality Council Office and the Data Confidentiality Supervision Group of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, stressing that the by-laws necessary for the implementation of the Data Confidentiality Law should be sped up as should the harmonisation of the other laws and by-laws with the provisions of the Data Confidentiality Law, so that the Law could be fully implemented at the national level.
The Committee members also discussed the potentials for establishing lasting cooperation between the Security Services Control Committee and the National Security and Data Confidentiality Council Office.
The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Jadranka Joksimovic.
