15th Sitting of the Foreign Affairs Committee

At the sitting held on 8 April, the members of the Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously elected Irena Vujovic of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Group, Committee Deputy Chairperson.
The Committee members conducted an interview with Radomir Zivkovic, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Democratic Republic of Congo, before deployment for diplomatic duty.


The Ambassador briefed the Committee members on the political situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the initiative he intends to launch to boost the level of economic cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Zivkovic pointed out that the military-economic cooperation leaves room for improvement as does the cooperation in the spheres of energy, infrastructure and agriculture. According to Ambassador Zivkovic bilateral cooperation needs to be improved and parliamentary cooperation should be activated to which end the two countries’ parliaments should launch initiatives for the formation of parliamentary friendship groups.
The Committee members and the Ambassador also discussed the Democratic Republic of Congo’s unregulated debt to the Republic of Serbia.
By a majority of votes, the Committee adopted the conclusion to send a memo to the Minister of Foreign Affairs requesting that the Minister submit a Regular Activity Report on the Ministry to the Committee.
At the sitting, the Committee noted the activities of the standing delegations in the upcoming period and the reports on contacts realised.

The sitting was chaired by Milos Aligrudic, Committee Chairman.
