13th Sitting of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications

At the sitting held on 18 June 2021 outside the National Assembly Seat in Cortanovci, the members of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications reviewed the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure activity information for the period October – December 2020 and January – March 2021.

The activity information was presented by the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic.

Momirovic informed the Committee members about the legislative and normative activities in the reporting period, the existing and planned infrastructure projects in the field of road and railway transportation and the communal infrastructure projects.

Momirovic said that at the moment, a total of about 1000 km of highways and expressways were being designed and built within the Serbia 2020-2025 Programme, noting that the construction of roads, railways, airports and subway directly affects Serbia’s GDP growth rate. He said that in the first quarter of the year, the construction growth exceeded 20%, adding that construction makes up two thirds of the 1.2% GDP growth.

Momirovic said that between January and March of this year, the Ministry had issued 5,543 building permits, 3,700 locations and 1,276 user permits.

After the Minister’s extensive presentation, the Committee members unanimously accepted the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure activity information for the period October – December 2020 and January – March 2021.

The sitting was also attended by Assistant Minister Anita Dimoski, Director of Serbian Railways Infrastructure Nebojsa Surlan and Special Advisor to the Minister Milos Adamovic.

After the sitting, members of the Committee on Spatial Planning, Transport, Infrastructure and Telecommunications, along with the Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Tomislav Momirovic and associates, visited the construction site (Russian part of the section) in the southern portal entrance tunnel, northern portal exit tunnel and works on the viaduct in Cortanovci on the 59th km. They also visited the works on the Chinese section of the railway on the 23rd km, 762nd meter, as well as the station in New Belgrade.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairperson Katarina Rakic and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Snezana Petrovic, Rajka Matovic, Nevenka Kostadinova, Bojan Torbica, Nikola Vojinovic, Goran Pekarski, Natasa Jovanovic, Daniel Gyivanovity and Slavenko Unkovic.
