At the sitting held on 23 January 2023, the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Issues passed the Decision to organize a public hearing on “Presentation of bills to be passed with the aim of adjustment to the Act amending the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, verified at the republic referendum on 16 January 2022”.
The Committee decided that the public hearing will be held on Thursday, 26 January 2023, in the Small Hall of the National Assembly House, starting at 11 am.
Committee Chairperson Jelena Zaric Kovacevic said that, in addition to the members of the Committee and the MPs, the following will be also invited to the public hearing:
-law faculty professors of the universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac and Kosovska Mitrovica;
-representatives of the delegations of the European Union, Council of Europe and the OSCE, as well as representatives of the embassies of EU member states;
-judges of the Supreme Court of Cassation, Administrative Court, Commercial Appellate Court, Misdemeanour Appellate Court and appellate courts;
-public prosecutors of the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office, Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organised Crime, Public Prosecutor’s Office for War Crimes and appellate public prosecutor’s offices;
-members of the High Judicial Council and State Prosecutorial Council;
-members of the working groups for the drafting of judicial laws;
-professional associations: Society of Judges of Serbia, Association of Public Prosecutors and Deputy Public Prosecutors of Serbia, Forum of Judges of Serbia, Judicial Academy Alumni Club, Association of Judges of Misdemeanour Court of the Republic of Serbia and Association of Judges and Prosecutors of Serbia;
-non-governmental organisations: JUKOM, Judicial Research Centre CEPRIS, Autonomous Women’s Centre, Transparency Serbia, Partners for Democratic Change, National Convention on the EU;
-lawyers’ chambers of Serbia, Vojvodina, Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Nis.
