11th Sitting of the Security Services Control Committee

The Security Services Control Committee held its 11th sitting, closed to the public, on 26 July 2023.


At the sitting closed to the public, the Committee considered and adopted the Military Security Agency Regular Report.

The Committee members noted that the Military Security Agency Report provides a comprehensive and complete insight into the work and results achieved by the Military Security Agency in the reporting period. It was established that in the reporting period, the Military Security Agency had managed to ensure the realisation of planned and extraordinary tasks and, within its purview, in a legal manner and in accordance with its jurisdiction, successfully realise security and counterintelligence protection of the Ministry of Defence and the Republic of Serbia.

The Military Security Agency had ensured the timely detection and assessment of indicators potential and immediate risks to the security system and the undertaking of effective counterintelligence and security measures. The quality of the data collected in the operative work enabled the adequate assessment of situation and developments, management and undertaking of preventive and other measures to protect the Ministry of Defence and the Republic of Serbia from all threat sources.

The Committee members noted that, in the reporting period, operative work had yielded significant data on the activity and intention of risk and threat factors, and that the Military Security Agency had undertaken effective counterintelligence and security measures and informed the relevant authorities and management and command bodies in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in a timely manner to ensure the employment of measures within their purview.

They praised the interagency cooperation, as well as cooperation with other state bodies, as well as with foreign partner services. This type of cooperation contributes to the timely detection of risks to the security of the Republic of Serbia and the timely undertaking of effective measures to eliminate them.

The sitting was chaired over by Committee Chairman MA Igor Becic, and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Nevena Djuric, Vladan Zagradjanin, Nikola Dragicevic, Jasmina Obradovic and Aleksandar Markovic.
