11th Sitting of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee

At the sitting held on 13 May, the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee reviewed four bills on the agenda for the Fifth Extraordinary Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2013, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Information on flood protection measures.


The Committee members reviewed and adopted the Bill on the Confirmation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Agricultural Cooperation, Bill on the Confirmation of the Veterinary Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Montenegro, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Montenegro on Mutual Recognition and Acceptance of Proof that Food and Animal Food of Plant, Mixed/Combined Origin Meets the Prescribed Requisites, and the Bill on the Confirmation of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of Montenegro on Plant Health Protection, submitted by the Government.
Miodrag Pjescic, Acting Director of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Republic Water Directorate, informed the Committee members on the situation in the field and the implemented flood protection measures. He said that the situation is not alarming and that new water sources and embankment deformities are regularly monitored.
The Committee members went on to consider the appeal for help sent to the Committee by the independent union of Aleksa Santic JSC in restructuring. Following a short discussion the Committee members adopted a Conclusion by which the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Committee recommends that the Government extend the expiration date of the Conclusion granting said grounds to Aleksa Santic JSC for use, until the restructuring process is completed.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman, Aleksandar Senic.
