10th Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 22 October 2023, the members of the Culture and Information Committee considered a number of bills and other acts in principle.


At the proposal of Committee Deputy Chairman Nebojsa Bakarec the Committee members accepted, by majority vote to amend the agenda, in line with Article 93 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, to include the following items: Bill on the Confirmation of the Film Co-Production Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey, Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Combating Illicit Trade in Cultural Goods, Bill on Electronic Media, in principle, and the Bill on Public Information in the Media, in principle.

In line with Article 76 of the National Assembly Rules of Procedure, the Committee members accepted the proposal of the Committee Deputy Chairman to complete a joint debate in principle on items 1 to 4 on the agenda and joint single debate on items 5 to 8.

The Committee then proceeded to adopt the following agenda:

1.Proposal of the Decision to determine the protection measures, protected area borders and protections measures for the protected area of Caricin Grad archaeological site, immovable cultural heritage of exceptional importance,
2.Proposal of the Decision to determine the protection measures, protected area borders and protections measures for the protected area of cultural monument Church of St. Achillius in Arilje, immovable cultural heritage of exceptional importance,
3.Bill on the Confirmation of the Film Co-Production Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey,
4.Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on Combating Illicit Trade in Cultural Goods,
5.Bill amending the Law on Temporary Regulation of Payment of Fees for the Public Service Media, in principle,
6.Bill amending the Law on Public Service Media, in principle,
7.Bill on Electronic Media, in principle, and
8.Bill on Public Information in the Media, in principle.

Items 1 to 4 were presented by Assistant Minister of Culture Danijela Vanusevic.

The Committee decided that Committee member Natasa Jovanovic be its rapporteur on items 1 to 4 at the National Assembly session.

Items 5 to 8 were presented by Assistant Minister of Information and Telecommunications Katarina Tomasevic and Dejan Stojanovic from the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.


Following a debate the Committee members unanimously accepted, in principle, the Bill amending the Law on Temporary Regulation of Payment of Fees for the Public Service Media, Bill amending the Law on Public Service Media, Bill on Electronic Media and the Bill on Public Information in the Media.

The Committee decided that Committee Deputy Chairman Nebojsa Bakarec be its rapporteur on items 5 to 8 at the National Assembly session.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairman Nebojsa Bakarec and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Lepomir Ivkovic, Stasa Stojanovic, Prim. Dr Nada Macura, Natasa Jovanovic, Tatjana Manojlovic, Branislav Josifovic, Dusan Maric, Dr Danijela Grujic, Branko Vukajlovic, Rozalia Okresz and Edis Durgutovic.
