100 Women - 100 Miniatures Exhibition Award Ceremony

Today, the National Assembly hosted the award ceremony for the best exhibitors of the sixth juried exhibition “100 Women - 100 Miniatures”, the only one of its kind in Serbia, which offers handicraft manufacturers to present their work and promote their craft.


On behalf of the National Assembly, patron of the exhibition for the second year running, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Prof. Dr Vladimir Marinkovic said that the key aspect of the current Government and National Assembly legislature is to create the best employment and business environment and make sure women get a bigger share of the economy and join the process of modernization in the country. He said that the goal is to create an environment of gender equality between men and women and the Government will continue to work toward economically empowering more women and the National Assembly to secure the best legislative framework to achieve this goal.

“It is an honour to, as the National Assembly, be able to promote old crafts and the creativity of our women and young people. This is just the beginning of cooperation and we will continue to encourage other institutions to prize Ethno Network’s products. That is what Serbia and can offer and be proud of”, said Marinkovic

The attending were also addressed by Australian Ambassador to Serbia Ruth Stewart, CRH Managing Director Roman Menz and the president of Ethno Network Violeta Jovanovic, after which this year’s the best exhibitors received awards.

This year’s 100 Women - 100 Miniatures exhibition was co-organized by Ethno Network and NALED under the auspices of the National Assembly and with the help of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Secretariat for the Economy of the City of Belgrade. The exhibition boasted 164 pieces by 77 women from 23 municipalities in Serbia and handicrafts made by the pre-school in the village of Citluk near Kragujevac which did not compete.
