World Bank Representatives at the Assembly of Serbia

A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held talks today at the Assembly of Serbia with the World Bank's representative for Yugoslavia and co-ordinator for South-eastern Europe and Central Asia Christian Portman.


A delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia held talks today at the Assembly of Serbia with the World Bank's representative for Yugoslavia and co-ordinator for South-eastern Europe and Central Asia Christian Portman. The head and deputy head of the World Bank's Mission to Yugoslavia, Rory O'Sullivan and Elaine Patterson also took part in the talks.

The delegation of the National Assembly, composed of Deputies, members of Committees on Finance, Development and Foreign Economic Relations, was headed by deputy president of the Committee on Development and Foreign Economic Relations Vlatko Sekulovic.

The World Bank's representatives acquainted their hosts with the World Bank's realised and planned activities in Yugoslavia in this year, as well as with possibilities for furthering co-operation with this institution.

The talks specifically dealt with issues concerning the development of the financial and private sector, the presentation of development programmes, as well as carrying out reforms in the fields of privatisation, taxation and social policy.
