Women’s Parliamentary Network Condemns Defence Minister’s Remark

The Women’s Parliamentary Network condemns the remark of Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic because it considers it to be a blatant violation of the Gender Equality Law and an insult to all the women in Serbia, which make up 51.6% of the population.

The Women’s Parliamentary Network would like to point out that all public dignitaries are obliged to combat prejudice at all times and not to insult the less represented gender in any way.

Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic’s apology, though important, does not absolve him.
