Two Committee Chairmen Talk to Chinese Delegation

The Chairmen of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Development and International Economic Relations, Dr Dragoljub Micunovic and Milos Jevtic, received today in separate meetings the delegation of the Chinese CP headed by the Deputy Minister of the Chinese CC International Department, Chen Fengxiang, visiting Serbia at the invitation of the Democratic Party.



The Chairmen of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Committee on Development and International Economic Relations, Dr Dragoljub Micunovic and Milos Jevtic, received today in separate meetings the delegation of the Chinese CP headed by the Deputy Minister of the Chinese CC International Department, Chen Fengxiang, visiting Serbia at the invitation of the Democratic Party.

The head of the Chinese delegation said that during the Serbian Foreign Minister’s visit to China last year, relations have been established between the Chinese Communist Party and the Democratic Party, stressing that CCP has good relations with 520 parties from 160 countries. He deemed that inter-party cooperation should contribute to the improvement of international relations and deepen the friendship and cooperation among nations.

Serbia is following your country’s opening-up to the world, especially on the economic plane and the way in which China accepted the world match and fought for the position of a great power, the Foreign Committee Chairman and President of the DP Political Council, Dr Dragoljub Micunovic stressed. Serbia proudly followed the organisation of the Olympic games when China showed its vast potential. It is particularly interesting how China manages to develop a liberal economy and market competition in one-party system conditions, Micunovic stated.

Micunovic pointed out that the relations with China are strategically important for Serbia and that it values China’s principled attitude and support in the UNSC concerning Kosovo-Metohija. He also pointed out the need the strengthen the economic relations of the two countries and invited the Chinese side to invest more into Serbia.

In the meeting with Milos Jevtic, the head of the Chinese delegation deemed that the relations between the Chinese CP and the Democratic Party are part of state diplomacy and that it is important that the party and state relations between PR China and Serbia be raised to a higher level. Exchange of party delegations should contribute to it, especially of young staff, parliamentary cooperation as mutual exchange of information on important international issues.

Committee Chairman Milos Jevtic thanked the Chinese guests for their support of Serbia in the UNSC and its principled positions on the need to abide by international law concerning Kosovo-Metohija.
