Thirty-Fourth Sitting of the Gender Equality Committee
The Gender Equality Committee held its thirty-fourth sitting 2 November 2011, to consider and adopt an activity plan on the realisation of project Role of the Parliament in Gender Responsive Budgeting.

The Committee Chairperson stated that, following the successful workshop on gender responsive budgeting, the OSCE Mission representatives and Committee members were planning further activities including workshops on employment-oriented gender analysis, gender budgeting and gender equality on the local level. The purpose of the workshops is to compile a gender equality handbook for the MPs which would be the result of the Committee’s cooperation with the OSCE Mission and might also be presented at a larger gathering of a regional character, concluded the Committee Chairperson.
In the continuation, the Committee members consented to the 2012 financial plan proposal and agreed to hold a public hearing on 25 November 2011, at noon, at the Small Hall of the National Assembly House, on violence against women, protection, prevention and the importance of interdepartmental cooperation in the deterrence of violence.
