The Security Services Control Committee ascertained that in the reporting period the Military Security Agency had employed counterintelligence and security measures to successfully protect the Ministry of Defence, Serbian Armed Forces and the defence readiness of the country as a whole, in line with legislative regulations. They also analysed the realisation of the Military Security Agency’s key tasks as regards opposing terrorist and extremist activities, opposing the activities of foreign intelligence agencies and the priorities of the Military Security Agency in line with current security challenges.

The Committee also decided to conduct a supervisory visit and control of the Military Security Agency Headquarters in Belgrade in line with its 2016 Activity Plan. The Decision specifies the date for the supervisory visit, composition of the Committee’s delegation and the topic and objectives of the supervisory visit.

The Committee also reviewed the civic petitions concerning issues within its scope of activity.

The Security Services Control Committee will continue its active supervision of the security services with the goal to strengthen civil and democratic oversight of the work of said services.
