Third Sitting of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality

At the sitting held on 28 March 2023, the members of the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality reviewed three Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue activity information for the period April – June 2022, the period July – September 2022 and the period October – December 2022.

The Committee accepted the proposal of Committee Chairman Dr Muamer Bacevac to complete a joint discussion on all three reports, all presented by Minister of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue Tomislav Zigmanov.

Following the discussion, the Committee members accepted all three of the Ministry’s reports by majority vote.

The Committee proceeded to unanimously pass the Decision to organise a public hearing with the topic of child marriages on 5 April 2023 where the MPs and interested public would be informed on the problem and proposals on how to improve the legislation regulating the area.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Chairman Dr Muamer Bacevac, and was attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Jana Mateovic, Dragan Markovic, Marija Jovanovic, Andrijana Vasic, Vesna Nedovic, Natasa Ivanovic, Zoltan Dani, Dr Danijela Grujic, Branimir Jovanovic, Doc. Dr Biljana Djordjevic, Sandra Jokovic, Natasa Tasic Knezevic, Miloratka Bojovic and Srdjan Milivojevic. The sitting was also attended by MP Radmila Vasic who is not member of the Committee.
