On 17 August 2004, the Recommendation on the Use of the Coat of Arms, Flag and Anthem of the Republic of Serbia was unanimously adopted by the National Assembly. The Proposal of the Recommendation, co-signed by 202 Deputies, was proposed by the National Assembly Chairman, Predrag Markovic.

The Decision on Obligations of Public Authorities of the Republic of Serbia in Assuming Powers of the Republic of Serbia as Successor of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, reclaiming Serbia’s sovereignty, was adopted on 5 June 2006. The Proposal of the Decision, co-signed by 103 Deputies, was proposed by the National Assembly Chairman, Predrag Markovic.

The Serbian anthem was officially performed for the first time on 22 August 2006, at the commemoration of the ninetieth anniversary of the battle of Mount Cer.

During an official flag-raising ceremony, on 30 August 2004, the new national flag of the Republic of Serbia was hoisted onto the flagpole in front of the National Assembly Building, at 14 Kralja Milana Street, Belgrade. The new Serbian anthem, Boze Pravde, was performed at the event. Chairpersons of Deputies’ Groups and several hundred members of the public also attended the ceremony.

On 8 September 2004, the Serbian anthem Boze Pravde was officially performed for the first time abroad during events marking the anniversary of the ordeal suffered by the Serbian army during World War One on the Greek islands of Corfu and Vido, thanks to the personal involvement of Dusan Batakovic, Serbia’s Ambassador to Greece, and the Office of the Assembly Chairman.

In 2005, after more than a hundred years, The National Bank of Serbia put into circulation 5-, 10-, and 20-dinar coins, as well as a 200-dinar banknote, showing the greater coat-of-arms of Serbia. The Chairman of the National Assembly of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, attended all these events.

Since 25 August 2004, master designs of the Serbian state and national flag, as well as the greater and lesser coats-of-arms of Serbia, as well as the score of the Serbian national anthem, Boze Pravde, can be found on the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia official website. All these are presented in the appropriate formats and fulfil the highest technical standards.
