Telephone Conversation between Ivica Dacic and Mustafa Sentop

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Ivica Dacic had a telephone conversation with the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop today.


The two heads of parliament pointed out that the bilateral relations between Serbia and Turkey are excellent, as evidenced by the intensive political dialogue at a high and the highest level, as well as the growing economic cooperation. They concluded that the corona virus pandemic did not stop bilateral cooperation, but rather strengthened the friendly ties and solidarity between the two countries.

The officials exchanged opinions on the current situation in the region and the world, with a special focus on the health and economic situation and the measures undertaken in the fight against the coronavirus.

They discussed the possibilities of strengthening cooperation within parliamentary diplomacy in accordance with the two parliaments’ 2015 Protocol on Cooperation, and agreed to intensify parliamentary visits and continue cooperation between the parliamentary committees and parliamentary friendship groups that after the stabilization of health conditions. They also spoke about the continuation and strengthening of cooperation between parliamentary delegations in international organizations.

The Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Sentop invited National Assembly Speaker Ivica Dacic to visit Turkey, which he gladly accepted.
