Support for democratic and reform processes in Serbia
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and acting President of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, met a delegation of policy directors of foreign ministries of Germany and Italy, Michael Schaefer and Giampiero Massolo.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia and acting President of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, met a delegation of policy directors of foreign ministries of Germany and Italy, Michael Schaefer and Giampiero Massolo. The meeting was also attended by the Ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of France, Kurt Leonberger and Hugues Pernet.
Members of the delegation expressed their support for democratic and reform processes in Serbia and conveyed the support of the European Union. The role of parliament in strengthening the rule of law in Serbia was also discussed, as were work on the new Constitution and the situation in Kosovo and Metohia.
Mr Markovic underlined that Serbia and Montenegro wished to be a partner to the European Union, and that the best signal for continued integration would be our country’s admission to the Partnership for Peace programme.
