Spring Debate School at National Assembly
On 5 June 2014 the National Assembly hosted a simulation of European Parliament proceedings for group of high-school students as part of project “Spring debate school - European Parliament simulation”.
Project “Spring debate school - European Parliament simulation” is organised by the BEUM Student Association, European Union Information Centre and Open Communication academic debate network.
As part of the project the high-school students attended lectures and workshops on debate techniques, decision-making processes and discussions led at the European Parliament.
The final event of the Spring debate school was a simulation of proceedings at the European Parliament hosted by the National Assembly. Seven of the most successful attendees of the debate school discussed: “Whether the Western Balkan states should join the European Union together or should each state join it individually?”
The jury comprised European Integration Committee Chairman Aleksandar Senic, Head of the European Union Mission to Serbian Michael Davenport and representative of the Open Communication academic debate network Helena Ivanov.
