The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic received today Alexander Vasiljevic Konuzin, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia, at his request.

Ambassador Konuzin personally congratulated Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic on her election for Speaker of the National Assembly also conveying the State Duma’s congratulations. He applauded the end of the process of constitution of Serbia‘s state organs. In the context of furthering traditionally good relations of the two countries, he expressed his expectation that the total cooperation of the Russian Federation and Serbia will be intensified, especially on the parliamentary level.

Konuzin repeated the Russian Federation’s well-known position of support to the Republic of Serbia in seeking a solution to the Kosovo and Metohia issue within international law..

In the area of economic cooperation, the Russian Ambassador was particularly interested in the ratification of the Energy Agreement between the Russian Federation and Serbia.
