Seventh Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee

At the sitting held on 17 March 2023, the members of the Culture and Information Committee considered the National Council for Culture Activity Report.


The Report, covering the period from December 2021 to 2022, was presented by Zoran Vapa, President of the National Council for Culture, who spoke of the improvement in the operation of cultural institutions conducted in accordance with the adopted programme of the National Council for Culture.

Following a discussion the Committee adopted the Report and proceeded to consider the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Culture, submitted by the Government.

The Bill was presented by State Secretary Miodrag Ivanovic who said that the proposed amendments to the Law on Culture would harmonise it with the Law on the Planning System of the Republic of Serbia according to which the Culture Development Strategy would be passed, instead of the erstwhile 10, for a five year period.

Following a discussion, the Committee adopted the Bill amending and modifying the Law on Culture.

The sitting was chaired by Committee Deputy Chairman Nebojsa Bakarec and attended by the following Committee members and deputy members: Stasa Stojanovic, Edis Durgutovic, Branislav Josifovic, Rozalia Okresz, Dunja Simonovic Bratic, Dusan Maric, Natasa Jovanovic, Lepomir Ivkovic and Dr Nada Macura.
