Seminar for New MPs at National Assembly

The National Democratic Institute is organising a seminar for the new MPs at the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, in Arandjelovac, from 4-6 October 2012.


The gathering is planned to be opened by the Parliament Speaker, MA Nebojsa Stefanovic, NDI Serbia Director Tom Kelly and UK Member of Parliament and Leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party Alasdair McDonnell.

The MPs’ authority and responsibility – legislative, control and representative role, presentation of political party research and the National Assembly’s legislative activity, presentation of the support service and the committee’s work and role in the parliament are just some of the topics of the two-day seminar. The national parliament’s secretariat is expected to present its projects, and the Assembly’s role in the European integration process will also be among the topics.

For the purpose of educating the new MPs and officers of the Serbian Parliament, the following will take part in the seminar: National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic, National Assembly Secretary General Jana Ljubicic, Prof. Dr Zoran Stojiljkovic from the Faculty of Political Sciences, Chairperson of the European Integration Committee Milica Delevic, Democratic Party MP Konstantin Samofalov, Head of the Serbian Progressive Party Parliamentary Club Veroljub Arsic, journalist-editor Suzana Trninic and many more.

The National Democratic Institute is the patron and organiser of the gathering.
