Second Sitting of the Environmental Protection Committee

At the second sitting held on 1 October, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee discussed the Proposal of the Committee’s work plan, the Committee members’ participation in the conversation with the delegation of the Czech parliament’s Environmental Protection Committee and the Committee members’ participation in the International Conference on the Pan-European oil pipeline.


At the second sitting held on 1 October, the members of the Environmental Protection Committee discussed the Proposal of the Committee’s work plan, the Committee members’ participation in the conversation with the delegation of the Czech parliament’s Environmental Protection Committee and the Committee members’ participation in the International Conference on the Pan-European oil pipeline.

The sitting was chaired by the Committee Chairman Cedomir Jovanovic.

Chairman Cedomir Jovanovic outlined the Proposal of the work plan for the Committee members, stressing regular, monthly contact between the Committee and representatives of the authorised ministry as a basic innovation compared to the previous plans. The Committee accepted the Work plan unanimously, particularly stressing the importance of cooperation with the provincial secretariat for environmental protection, local self-governments and public companies.

The Committee went on to decide to appoint representatives to form the delegation to meet the delegation of the Czech Parliament’s committee of the same name which will be visiting Belgrade in November of this year.

The Committee also ruled that the Committee member, deputy Gabor Lodi will represent the Committee at the International Conference on the Pan-European oil pipeline, to be held from 24 to 26 October in Novi Sad.

At the initiative of deputy Petar Jojic and the Committee Chairman Cedomir Jovanovic, the Committee will hold its next sitting in Pancevo, in cooperation with the local self-government and authorised ministry, and discuss the systematic measures implemented to solve the town’s air pollution problem. The Committee members accepted deputy Dragisa Djokovic’s initiative to forward a memo to the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning requesting that an inspection be sent to Kosovska Mitrovica in order to check the documentation and justification for the construction of an asphalt base in the town centre.

At the proposal of the Committee Chairman Cedomir Jovanovic, the Committee will forward an initiative to the National Assembly Speaker and the Administrative Committee to ban smoking on the National Assembly premises in line with the law.
