The Committee members then proceeded to discuss the Information on the procedure for the election of candidates for Radio Television Serbia Public Media Institution Programme Board members. The Committee members also ruled on launching the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator competent committee of the Parliament of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, as well as on launching the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator associations of electronic media publishers.

Discussing the Information on the procedure for the election of candidates for Radio Television Serbia Public Media Institution Programme Board members, Committee Chairperson Maja Gojkovic reminded the Culture and Information Committee that, at the sitting held on 25 November 2015, it had passed the Decision to launch the procedure for the election of candidates for Radio Television Serbia Public Media Institution Programme Board members. The candidates had a 15-day deadline to submit their candidacy for the Programme Board to the Committee. 42 candidates used that right and submitted their candidacy for Programme Board membership. At the sitting held on 22 January 2016, pursuant to Article 8 of the Decision, the Committee interviewed 37 of the candidates who met the requirements of the public call and stood by their candidacy, as four of the candidates submitted a written statement that they withdraw their candidacy.

The Committee Chairperson said that, since the candidates had submitted the written statement that they do not hold any political or public office in December 2015, they need to re-submit it.

The Committee members adopted the proposal calling for re-submission of the written statement that the candidates do not hold any political or public office, setting a 30-day deadline, and to re-interview the candidates, after which the Committee will establish a list of 30 candidates for Radio Television Serbia Public Media Institution Programme Board members.

The Committee proceeded to adopt the Decision to launch the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator competent committee of the Parliament of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina.

The Committee also adopted the Decision to launch the procedure for the nomination of candidates for member of the Council of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media by the authorised nominator associations of electronic media publishers.

Under any other business the Committee decided to submit a request to the Ministry of Culture and the Media and the Competition Commission for written information on the public call for media project co-financing.
