The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Oliver Dulic, talked today at the National Assembly House to the Director of the Directorate for the West Balkans in the European Commission Directorate General for Enlargement of the EU, Pierre Mirel.

Speaker Dulic expressed his belief that 2008 will be a year of European integrations in Serbia, stressing he Parliament’s readiness to take over its role in them.

According to him, in order to expedite the process of European integrations it is also necessary to work on reaching a consensus of all political parties on these issues and to build strong democratic institutions.

Pierre Mirel estimated that Serbia has realised progress in the process of European integrations emphasising that the European Union wishes to help Serbia in the process.

The Chairman of the European Integrations Committee, Milos Jevtic, also took part in the meeting.
