SPEAKER DULIC TALKS TO EU EMPLOYMENT COMMISSIONER

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Oliver Dulic talked today to the EU Employment Commissioner Vladimir Spidla.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Dr Oliver Dulic talked today to the EU Employment Commissioner Vladimir Spidla.

Speaker Dulic briefed the European Commissioner on the dynamics of the National Assembly’s work, pointing out that Serbia is at present in a period of aligning its laws with the New Constitution of the Republic of Serbia.

“I expect that we will soon pass the Law on the National Assembly and adopt the rules of procedure on the work of the Parliament, which will enable us to enter a phase of more expedient passing of laws necessary for the continuation of European integrations”, Dulic stated.

Commissioner Spidla stated his readiness to aid Serbia on its way to the EU, but added that the rhythm of the progress depends on Serbia alone.

Oliver Dulic and Vladimir Spidla agreed that regional cooperation on social issues can be the basis for reconciliation and stability in the West Balkan region.

The conversation at the National Assembly House was also attended by the Chairman of the Committee on Labour, Ex-Servicemen’s and Social Issues, Meho Omerovic.
