SEECP Parliamentary Assembly Ad Hoc Working Group Meets

National Assembly Deputy Speaker and member of the Ad hoc Working Group of the South East Europe Cooperation Process Parliamentary Assembly Gordana Comic took part in the Ad hoc Working Group’s first meeting, 7-9 November 2014, in Tirana.


At the Working Group meeting, MPs and national coordinators from 11 SEECP member states, except for Moldova and Bosnia and Herzegovina, discussed the remaining open issues of secretariat and budget in order to finalise the process of institualisation of the parliamentary cooperation within the newly-established SEECP Parliamentary Assembly.

At the end of the meeting the Working Group noted that the secretariat’s rulebook has been ascertained by consensus and that all the national delegations are obliged to speak up on the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly secretariat headquarters by the next meeting. The Troika, consisting of the Albanian Parliament, current chairing the SEECP, the former and future chair – the Romanian Parliament and the Bulgarian National Assembly, is tasked with preparing a budget proposal by the next meeting, which should be adopted at the SEECP Parliamentary Assembly plenary session planned for May-June 2015 in Tirana.

At the margins of the Working Group meeting, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic met with Albanian Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta and the officials jointly noted the commitment to continued regional cooperation and dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gordana Comic said that the parliamentary cooperation going on within the South East Europe Cooperation Process Parliamentary Assembly is proof that the entire region is ready to work toward a common future.
