Parties to agree date of National Assembly extraordinary sitting

The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, called a meeting of chairpersons of all deputies’ groups for 12 p.


The Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Predrag Markovic, called a meeting of chairpersons of all deputies’ groups for 12 p.m. on Monday 20 February 2006.

The meeting is expected to agree on a date for convening an extraordinary sitting, requested yesterday, 16 February 2006, by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. The session’s agenda is to be made up of only one item: the report on the course of negotiations on a political solution for the future status of Kosovo and Metohia.

The National Assembly’s Resolution of 21 November 2005 authorised the Government of the Republic of Serbia to form a negotiating team and required the Government to regularly report on the course of negotiations.
