OSCE Mission to Serbia to Continue to Support Women’s Parliamentary Network Activities

The members of the Women’s Parliamentary Network met today with representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia to discuss the support to WPN activities in the next National Assembly legislature.

Expecting the WPN to continue its activities on women’s empowerment after the new National Assembly legislature is constituted, the representatives of the OSCE Mission expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and prepare several new proposals for the new women MPs.

The Mission will support the establishment of a database of women politicians, experts, institutions and representatives of the civil and non-governmental sector active in women’s empowerment, so as to facilitate the WPN’ future efforts. The Mission will also propose changes to the WPN organisational structure so that all of its members could contribute to its work. They will also prepare educational material on gender equality and a proposal of an action plan based on the conclusions adopted at the WPN’s three conferences.

The participants of the meeting opined that the OSCE Mission’s support of the WPN’s efforts is truly significant and that it greatly contributes to the empowerment of women.

The meeting was attended by WPN members Dubravka Filipovski, Marija Obradovic and Annamaria Vicsek.
