Ninth Sitting of the Culture and Information Committee
At the sitting held on 12 May, the Culture and Information Committee considered the Nomination of the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency for the election of a Council member living and working on the territory of Kosovo-Metohija.
At the sitting held on 12 May, the Culture and Information Committee considered the Nomination of the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency for the election of a Council member living and working on the territory of Kosovo-Metohija. The sitting was chaired by Vesna Marjanovic, Committee Chairperson.
The Committee noted that, at the sitting of 29 April, the Council of the Republic Broadcasting Agency as an authorized nominator, pursuant to article 23 paragraphs 3 and 4 of the Broadcasting Act, determined the Nomination for the election of the ninth Council member, one living and working on the
Elaborating the nomination, the President of the RBA Council, Bishop of Jegar Dr Porfirije (Peric) stated that Rakocevic is among those who best know the state of the media and the needs in Kosovo-Metohija, and is cognizant of the media legislation in the Province. In addition, the nominated candidate has contributed to improve the quality of information and unification of the media space of the Serbian community in Kosovo-Metohija. The RBA Council President also said that the nominations for the remaining two Council members, made by non-government organizations and the media sector, are imminent so that the RBA Council may work in its full complement.

In the continuation of the ninth sitting of the Culture Committee, 19 May, the Committee members discussed the Bill on the Confirmation of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture between the Government of Republic of Serbia and the Government of Montenegro and the Bill on the Confirmation of the European Convention on the Protection of the Archaeological Heritage (Revised). The sitting was attended by Branislav Dimitrijevic, Assistant Minister of Culture in charge of international relations, European integration and development of management in the field of culture and associates.
