Newly-Elected Judges Take Oath of Office Before National Assembly Speaker

Judges elected to office for the first time at the Fourth Sitting of the Second Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia in 2022, held on 26 December 2022, took the oath of office today before the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dr Vladimir Orlic, who expressed his conviction that during their mandate the newly-elected judges would perform their duty independently and without bias, in line with the law and Constitution, following only their conscience.

“I believe that in the course of your three-year mandate you will significantly contribute to the continued reform of the judiciary system, to build an independent, modern and efficient judiciary and advance the rule of law as a whole”, told the National Assembly Speaker to newly-elected judges.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice Livija Pavicevic, Deputy President of the High Judicial Council Zorana Delibasic, elective members of the High Judicial Council from the ranks of judges Vukica Kuzic and Snezana Bjelogrlic, as well as the Deputy Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Dragana Odalovic.

The oath was taken by judges of the basic courts in Loznica, Novi Sad, Novi Pazar, Petrovac na Mlavi, Sombor, Surdulica and Sabac, as well as judges of the misdemeanour courts in Valjevo, Zajecar and Kraljevo.
