National Assembly Standing Delegation at 18th Annual OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Session

The 18th Annual OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session opened on Monday 28 June in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius and shall last until 3 July.



The 18th Annual OSCE Parliamentary Assembly session opened on Monday 28 June in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius and shall last until 3 July.

The main topic is “The OSCE: Addressing New Security Challenges”. This topic and many other current issues from the sphere of security shall be discussed at the plenary session, as well as by the Political, Economic and Committee on Human Rights and Democracy.

Dora Bakoyannis, Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, took part in the plenary session as OSCE Chair, and on the occasion briefed the OSCE PA members on the results of the informal OSCE ministerial meeting recently held on Corfu. She also pointed out that the OSCE countries shall face new security challenges together and work on the issues of energy safety, as well as human rights protection under the new conditions.

Over 250 deputies from 50 countries are taking part in the session. The Serbian delegation is headed by Suzana Grubjesic, head of the standing delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and comprises the members of the standing delegation Gordana Comic, Meho Omerovic and Gordana Pop-Lazic.
