National Assembly Speaker with Moroccan Officials
In the course of her official visit to Morocco, National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic met with the President of the Moroccan Parliament’s House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami and the President of the House of Councilors Hakim Benchemass.
They concluded that the two countries’ good political relations should provide the groundwork for the development of economic cooperation. They also agreed that the parliaments should encourage direct contacts between their countries’ businessmen. Gojkovic thanked her hosts for Morocco’s principled support concerning the Kosovo-Metohija issue, again confirmed yesterday during the vote of the UNESCO executive board when Morocco supported Serbia’s stance and confirmed its friendship, and stressed that Serbia would continue to fight to preserve the Serbian heritage.
In separate meetings with the Serbian Parliament Speaker, the presidents of the two houses of the Moroccan Parliament confirmed Morocco’s support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, saying that Morocco had expressed its position on several occasions, just like it did during yesterday’s UNESCO executive board vote.
The officials also discussed Euro-integration, the reforms conducted in Serbia and Morocco, migration and terrorist challenges.
Gojkovic will also meet with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, and has also had a meeting with an advisor at the office of King Mohammed VI Youssef Amrani.
The delegation also comprises Dragomir Karic, member of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Morocco.
