National Assembly Speaker in Official Visit to Kingdom of Sweden

The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic made an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden on 7 July 2009 at the invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Sweden, Per Westerberg.



The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. Dr Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic made an official visit to the Kingdom of Sweden on 7 July 2009 at the invitation of the Speaker of the National Assembly of Sweden, Per Westerberg.

In addition to a very thorough talk with National Assembly Speaker Westerberg, the NARS Speaker also met the Minister for EU Affairs, Cecilia Malmström.

The meetings focused around: intensifying parliamentary cooperation, Serbia’s course of action aimed at overcoming the effects of the financial crisis, as well as Serbia’s EU accession process. At the same time, the officials briefed one another on the political and economic situations in their respective countries.

In all the meetings, the NARS Speaker was assured that Sweden fully supports Serbia’s road to the EU and visa liberalization.

Also, both sides agreed to devise plans and programmes which would solidify parliamentary cooperation on all levels.

  • 18.15 - opening of the exhibition “Combing Through Time” on the National Day of Remembrance of Roma victims of WWII (National Assembly House, 13 Nikola Pasic Square, Central Hall)
