National Assembly Speaker Ana Brnabic visited the Science and Technology Park in Cacak and the construction site where the first phase of construction of the new STP building is nearing completion and stated that construction is proceeding according to the planned schedule, and that the building is expected to be completed by mid-2026.
"For this additional STP building in Cacak alone, 20 million euros have been allocated, which includes construction works and equipment, and it is progressing fascinatingly quickly. The plan is to complete this building by mid-2026, equip it and then open it together, thereby giving Cacak something important for the further development and improvement of the city itself," said the National Assembly Speaker.
She said that it is of utmost importance that MPs who voted for projects such as the STP in Cacak and thus approved funds for their construction, visit those projects so that it will guide further decision-making and the work of the National Assembly itself. The Chairman and members of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society also visited the Science and Technology Park today.
The National Assembly Speaker emphasized that she was extremely pleased to meet young people from Belgrade at the Cacak STP who had moved to Cacak for work, which, as she said, is a dynamic that has not been seen in Serbia before.
"Young people who came with their families and are overjoyed to have made that choice. Usually throughout the history of Serbia, we have seen internal migrations towards Belgrade. Now, finally, because we are developing every region of Serbia, we are seeing migrations from Belgrade to other cities and that is what will make Serbia stronger in the future," said Brnabic.
According to her, at a time when there are people who want to divide Serbia and people who incite hatred in our society, it is the obligation of everyone, especially the MPs, to go around Serbia to promote projects such as the Science and Technology Park in Cacak and call for calming tensions, togetherness, harmony and unity, in order to continue the growth and development of Serbia and to continue leading Serbia on a victorious path.
"Condemnation of all the violence and the practices of blockaders and rallies in the last few weeks, when you go to houses, in front of the apartments of people you do not like for whatever reason, and when you destroy the premises of political parties you disagree with. That is not the true face of Serbia. No one wants such a Serbia. It is important that we be united and that all the differences we have are resolved institutionally, and above all in the institutions that are for it, which is the Serbian Parliament," said Brnabic.
In addition to the National Assembly Speaker, the Chairman and members of the Committee on Education, Science, Technological Development and the Information Society and the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation Béla Bálint also took the tour.
