National Assembly Speaker Talks to Bulgarian Foreign Minister
National Assembly Speaker Maja Gojkovic met today with the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kristian Vigenin and the two officials agreed that the two countries enjoy good relations with ample room for improvement.
The National Assembly Speaker emphasised the importance of regional cooperation, saying that the natural disasters suffered first by Serbia, and then by Bulgaria have demonstrated the importance of solidarity and cooperation.
Gojkovic said that Serbia was interested in continuing cooperation within the Danube Strategy and on joint projects, with the Conference of Danube Parliamentarians in Budapest offering an excellent opportunity to do so.
The Bulgarian Foreign Minister said that high-level visits between Serbia and Bulgaria send a good sign to entrepreneurs to deepen their cooperation.
Speaking of regional cooperation, he drew attention to the importance of stability and peace for the realisation of projects in various spheres, such as “South Stream” in energy production.
“I believe that our future holds peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region”, said Vigenin.
