Speaker Stefanovic and Ambassador Chepurin discussed the plans for a possible visit by the Speaker of the Russian Federation State Duma Sergei Naryshkin to the Republic of Serbia. The National Assembly Speaker and the Russian Ambassador also spoke about the Republic of Serbia and the Russian Federation organising a joint event to mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of World War One which would be set in Belgrade this year. They agreed that the activities relating to the commemoration of the 100th anniversary are very important as a reminder of the two countries’ history.

In the course of the meeting, the National Assembly Speaker and the Ambassador agreed that the relations between Serbia and the Russian Federation are traditionally good and friendly. Speaker Stefanovic commended the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi wishing luck and success to the representatives of the Russian Federation.
